Carri,

I sent you a PM back, thanks for getting back to me so fast.

I also wanted to post on this thread to everyone reading it, and following.

What Carri said is that "you need 30k followers," but only one "staff pick" fits into that. There are also 8 "staff picks" with less than 1000 followers, one as low as 242, with only 135 friends.

I'm not sure if the 30k is right, so I will hold off on asking at this time.

Thanks Carri :D

I guess what they say is true that you learn something new every day. I didn't even know that there WERE Staff Picks in Sponsored Tweets!

After asking around, however, I found that these are generally accounts that are not quite popular enough for web celeb status, but who do have more than 30K followers and are not bot accounts. If you think that this applies to you, you can submit your account for 'web celeb' consideration here:

All the Best,
Carri

It's like the SocialSpark 'Premiums' all over again, a closed group that you need to meet certain standards to be added to, but hardly any of the ones in it meet the standards and no one (even Izea staff) seem to know why

Hey guys!

Just wanted to chime in here! Please remember that 'staff picks' are just that, favorite tweeters of the staff, followers aside. Eyes are out for quality, not quantity of followers. I mistakenly provided a static number to Carri, but that is not currently a standard to which we hold applicants.

As Carri noted, if you'd like to apply, fill out the Web Celeb form. Thanks! :)

I guess I'll give it a shot, but I'm sure I won't be picked. I guess I shouldn't think that way, but I just can't help it at this point. When your told "favorite tweeters of the staff, followers aside," makes us think you need to be a friend. @Realitytvfan - I'm afraid your right, it's the same problem with SocialSpark's Premium Bloggers. HotTamale said it all in his comment, just hope advertisers don't read it. Advertisers are already leaving, now reading HotTamale's comment their going to be running. Advertisers are now going to see that their not getting the best of the best, just what Izea Staff thinks is the best, which their not always right.

It takes 2 groups to make this all work, the advertisers, and the bloggers. Izea shouldn't create a group to pick from, because that group will fall apart, and won't be cleaned up, just look at SocialSpark's Premium Bloggers group, which is a joke (@blm03 I know not all of them, but most of them).

I was so looking forward to sponsortweets when it came out, I was even one of the first added to the system. But today, I'm starting to careless about it. I wonder if I'm the only one feeling this way....

Just so you know, Hot Tamale is a "she". :)

That being said, if you want to be included apply. It can't hurt and it beats complaining about it. For me, I've actually done semiwell with it. However, I monitored my tweets for it and I get a good number of clicks (plus my FAR score is a 10)

I knew HotTamale was a "she," my bad on that one!

If you read the post, I did apply. And I don't think I was complaining.

Sorry, poor choice of words on my part. However, as an advertiser I know a staff pick means that staff likes them/thinks they are good. However, when I run a campaign I use my own metrics that I know work.

For me, the FAR score best determined how well a tweet did.
